2026 NYYC Women's International Championship
The Big Day:
The inaugural edition of the New York Yacht Club Women’s International Championship will take place from September 12 to 19, 2026, at the New York Yacht Club Harbour Court in Newport, Rhode Island. The regatta will be contested using the Club’s fleet of 20 identical IC37s, ensuring a fair and highly competitive racing environment. The 37-foot keelboat was designed by renowned naval architect Mark Mills to a detailed performance brief developed by the Club, prioritizing equality, durability, and high-level racing. As a powerful and sporty platform, the IC37 places a premium on cohesive crew work, athleticism, and precise boat handling, rewarding teams that excel in communication, strategy, and execution on the water.
Event Feautures:
The event will feature two days of mandatory practice followed by five days of racing, allowing teams ample time to familiarize themselves with the boats and conditions before competition begins. Complementing the on-water action, an impressive program of shore-side social activities will take place along the newly developed Harbour Court waterfront, fostering connection and camaraderie among competitors. A formal prize-giving banquet will conclude the week, creating a truly memorable regatta experience.
